Introduction and Definitions

‘App’ refers to the Closr mobile application.

‘Closr’ refers to CLOSR APP LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16136329, with its registered office at 18 Burrell Avenue, Lancing, West Sussex, BN15 8QB.

‘Terms’ refers to these Terms and Conditions.

‘We/Our/Us’ refers to Closr.

‘You’ refers to any individual using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Closr App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

The App is intended for individuals aged 16 and over.

By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon being posted within the App or on our website. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Services Provided

Closr is a free mobile application designed to help users discover and support local independent businesses across Sussex. Our services include:

  • Exclusive Offers: Free access to promotions provided directly by participating businesses.

  • Geo-location Mapping: Find nearby venues and offers easily.

  • Digital Loyalty Cards: Some businesses may offer stamp or points systems.

  • Local Business Support: We promote independent venues at no cost to them.

  • Charity Support: We donate 5% of Spotlight profits to local charities (Spotlight is a paid optional advertising product for businesses only).

All offers, discounts, and promotions are provided by the businesses themselves.
 

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use Closr, you may need to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information

  • Keep your details up to date

  • Keep your login secure

  • Notify us of unauthorised access at support@closr.uk

3.2 Eligibility

By creating an account, you confirm:

  • You are 16+

  • You agree to these Terms

  • You comply with applicable laws

3.3 Account Types

Closr now offers one type of user account:

Free User Account — includes full access to local deals, loyalty programs, and discovery features.

There are no paid memberships.

3.4 Account Termination

You may delete your account in the 'My Account' tab or by contacting support@closr.uk

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3.5 Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Create multiple accounts for abuse

  • Share or sell your login

  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or misuse the App

  • Use the App unlawfully or harmfully

 

4. Use of the App

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You must not:

  • Interfere with App functionality

  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems

  • Upload harmful code

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools
     

5. Loyalty Programs & Business Offers

All offers and loyalty schemes are:

  • Provided directly by independent businesses

  • Subject to each business’s own terms

  • Available at the business’s discretion

Businesses may amend or withdraw offers at any time.

Closr is not responsible for individual venues failing to honour an offer and businesses have signed a document to allow us to promote their chosen promotion.
 

6. Intellectual Property

All App content, branding, logos, text, graphics, and software belong to Closr or our licensors.

Users must not:

  • Copy or reproduce App content

  • Modify App materials

  • Use our trademarks without permission

 

7. User-Generated Content

If you submit content (reviews, comments, photos):

  • You retain ownership

  • You grant Closr a licence to use that content for promotional and functional purposes

  • You must not submit unlawful, harmful, or offensive content

We may remove content that violates these Terms.
 

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranties.

Closr is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Business failures to honour offers

  • Errors in business-provided information

Nothing limits liability for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.

 

9. Challenge 25 Policy

It is the responsibility of each business to check ID for age-restricted products (alcohol, tobacco, vapes, etc.).

Closr does not verify age on behalf of businesses.
 

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Closr for losses or claims resulting from:

  • Your misuse of the App

  • Your breach of these Terms

  • Your unlawful actions
     

11. Business Verification & Offer Accuracy

Businesses are vetted before being listed. However:

  • They are fully responsible for honouring their offers

  • Closr is not liable for inaccurate or withdrawn deals

  • Users should report issues to support@closr.uk

We will investigate and may remove non-compliant businesses, this app is an all-round free service.


12. Businesses Joining Closr

Any business is welcome to join Closr as long as it fits the excisting 'sectors' within the app at the time. Right now, we are allowing Food & Drink, Shopping/Retailers and Health & Leisure. We are working on additional sectors such as services, for example. Gardening, Plumbing and so on. This is forecasted to be ready in 6-9 months so late 2026. 

When you sign up to Closr via our Google Form, you must honour the discount that you provide. Should a consumer not receieve their discount, you will be warned and possibly be removed from the app as you are breaking the terms of service.
 

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
